- Replaced task-simple-mode with a `task.batch` setting enabled by default.
- Updated task schema to use batch `{agent, context, tasks[]}` payloads.
- Migrated task execution to spawn one async job per task and merge outputs.
- Removed per-call schema passing while preserving legacy flat task calls.
- Removed `resume` from task params and schema, requiring agent and assignment inputs.
- Dropped resume continuation paths in task execution and call rendering, always spawning a new agent.
- Removed the `irc.enabled` setting and computed IRC availability by task-depth rules.
- Updated task follow-up guidance to use IRC messaging/history links instead of `task(resume:)`.
- Added a shared `formatAnchoredContext` helper and switched mismatch formatting to use it.
- Extended unresolved block-edit errors to append nearby numbered context with `*`-marked anchor lines.
- Updated unit and integration tests and docs to reflect the new unresolved-block preview behavior.
The task tool now takes a single { agent, assignment, description, ... } and always runs the subagent in the background — the batch tasks[] array and shared context parameter are gone. Fan-out is parallel task calls; shared background flows through a '/Users/can/.omp/agent/sessions/-Projects-.tree-pi-commit/2026-06-10T15-36-32-782Z_019eb22d-970e-7000-8964-72c98becf3e8/local' file referenced in each assignment.\n\nIntroduces a persistent subagent lifecycle: finished subagents stay live as idle, the lifecycle manager parks them to disk after task.agentIdleTtlMs (default 7 minutes; 0 keeps them live until exit), and they revive automatically when prompted from the Agent Hub, messaged on IRC, or resumed via task. New task(resume: "<id>") revives an idle or parked subagent and runs a follow-up assignment in its existing session.\n\nAdds soft request budgets (explore/quick_task 40, others 90, configurable via task.softRequestBudget, 0 disables): crossing the budget injects a one-time wrap-up steer into the child; crossing 1.5× aborts the run gracefully. Cancelled/aborted subagent salvage replaces the old (no output) with the child's last activity snippet plus request/token stats; SingleResult tracks a per-child requests counter (assistant message_end events) used to sort agent lists in runtime-ascending order in both the live progress view (finished agents above pending/running) and the finalized result view, so rows no longer reshuffle on finalize. Adds a task gallery fixture variant for the resume path (renderer key separated from fixture key).\n\nAll task tests are reshaped around the single-call contract; tests for the discarded shared-context flow are removed, and new task-guards/task-resume/task-schema tests pin the new contract surface.
A job poll whose watched jobs are all still running and nothing was cancelled is pure 'still waiting' noise once a newer block exists. ToolExecutionComponent now detects isWaitingPollDetails on the result, leaves the block displaceable, and keeps its rows out of scrollback. EventController tracks the most recent displaceable poll and resolves it (sealing the block) on every event that proves another tool now owns the live region: a new tool call/result, a streaming arg start, an end-of-turn signal, or another job result that itself isn't displaceable. UiHelpers' transcript rebuild applies the same rule. Docs and the new job-poll-displacement test pin the behavior.
Registers a HistoryProtocolHandler with the internal URL router: history:// lists every registered agent (id, status, kind, last activity) and history://<agentId> renders a concise markdown transcript (tool calls collapsed to one line each, thinking elided). Live refs render from the in-memory message array; parked refs load read-only from the JSONL session file via loadSessionMessagesReadOnly (no writer, no lock). System prompt + read tool prompt + docs/tools/read.md learn the new scheme.
Shared background now flows through a '/Users/can/.omp/agent/sessions/-Projects-.tree-pi-commit/2026-06-10T15-36-32-782Z_019eb22d-970e-7000-8964-72c98becf3e8/local' file referenced in each prompt instead of a context string forwarded into the subagent's system prompt. The JS and Python preludes drop the context kwarg from agent(), the subagent system prompt drops the {{#if context}} block and the conversation-context file pointer, and runEvalAgent no longer writes a per-call conversation context file. AgentSession sheds the now-unused formatCompactContext() helper that supplied the file's body, and ToolSession.getCompactContext is removed alongside it.
Replaces the blocking auto-reply IRC turn with a process-global IrcBus and a four-op tool (send/wait/inbox/list). send is fire-and-forget with per-recipient delivery receipts (injected/woken/revived/failed); replies become real turns by the recipient, observed via wait (or the send await:true sugar). Bounded per-agent mailboxes (cap 100) drop oldest on overflow; AgentSession.deliverIrcMessage folds an in-flight delivery in as a non-interrupting aside at the next step boundary, or starts a real wake turn when idle. AgentRegistry/lifecycle handle the idle→woken / parked→revived transitions, so messaging a non-running peer brings it back. Adds a dedicated TUI renderer (directional headers, delivery-outcome coloring, quoted bodies, per-recipient receipt trees, status-badged peer lists with unread counts). irc.timeoutMs is now the default timeout for wait / send await:true. AgentSession sheds the agentRegistry config field, the dedupeIrcReply → dedupeEphemeralReply rename (now used by /btw and /omfg), and the background-channel exchange queue / forwardIrcRelayToMain plumbing the auto-reply model needed.
- Added "available" status so recognized servers show under lazy mode without warmup.
- Rendered full welcome box as pre-TUI splash with fixed slot heights to avoid layout shift.
- Reported lazy servers as available in /status instead of omitting the section.
- Added an `lsp.lazy` boolean setting with default `true` so LSP servers start on first use.
- Updated session startup logic to run LSP warmup only when `enableLsp`, UI is enabled, and lazy startup is disabled.
- Documented the new lazy LSP initialization behavior and defaults in SDK and LSP tool docs.
Updated the read tool's provider-visible path schema, prompt docs, CLI help, and internal URL docs so URL and internal URI targets are advertised consistently. Added schema coverage for the read path description.\n\nFixes #2215
- Rewrote dynamic `import(...)` rewriting to emit a guarded callee that prefers `__omp_import__` and falls back to native `import` when the helper is unavailable.
- Added a shared shim constant and updated import-rewrite tests to verify routed dynamic imports work both with the injected helper and after serializing into a realm without it.
- Renamed eval oneshot helper from llm() to completion() across JS/Python APIs.
- Remapped eval bridge internals to completion semantics (__completion__, runEvalCompletion, completion status op).
- Updated docs, prompts, and timeout guidance to describe completion() usage and behavior.
- Adjusted completion defaults for active-session model preference, fallback parsing, and slow-tier effort handling.
- Added a BlockResolution type and `onResolved` callback so `resolveBlockEdits` reports each anchor's resolved span for `replace block`/`delete block` edits.
- Updated patch application to return those spans on hash-match applies and omit them during drift-recovery paths where line numbers no longer align.
- Propagated the surfaced spans through the edit tool output and added/updated tests covering replace/delete block echo and drift behavior.
- Enabled clickable read-path output for result rows, summaries, and previews.
- Resolved read links from result paths, source metadata, internal URLs, and absolutes.
- Preserved selector suffixes while rendering line-anchor hyperlinks.
- Ignored aborted signals for plain-file and directory reads while keeping conflicts-cancel behavior.
- Added tests for non-abortable read behavior and link-label rendering regression coverage.
- Updated `executeToolCalls` to always pass the active `toolSignal` into `tool.execute` rather than bypassing it for non-abortable tools.
- Removed the `nonAbortable` option from `AgentTool` and from the read, write, and edit tools so they can no longer opt out of abort handling.
- Documented the cancellation behavior change in the affected tool docs and package changelogs.
- Updated `waitForDiagnostics` to accept exact document-version matches immediately and otherwise wait for a quiescence window before using the latest publish.
- Removed the old unversioned-acceptance option and applied the settle-based wait logic through inline and deferred diagnostics fetch paths.
- Added an LSP writethrough regression test ensuring stale unversioned diagnostics are ignored in favor of later fresh publishes.
The runtime cutover to Kagi's V1 search API landed in #1272 but
docs/tools/web_search.md still described the sunset V0 endpoint
(GET /api/v0/search with 'Authorization: Bot ...'). Realigned the
Querying and Output bullets with the actual implementation in
packages/coding-agent/src/web/kagi.ts:
- POST https://kagi.com/api/v1/search with Bearer auth and JSON body.
- recency maps to filters.after as a UTC YYYY-MM-DD string.
- Output now includes the categorized bucket merge (search/video/news/
infobox with title tags), adjacent_question + related_search related
questions, direct_answer-derived answer, and meta.trace requestId.
Fixes#2009
- Described "auto" default gating MCP tools past 40-tool threshold.
- Noted late resolution in createAgentSession after registry exists.
- Updated legacy mcp.discoveryMode mapping to MCP-only.
Reviewer noted that an unconditional ExaProvider.isAvailable steered the auto chain into the public MCP fallback before any later-configured provider could run. Restored the credential-gated isAvailable, then split out isExplicitlyAvailable so resolveProviderChain still routes an explicit Exa selection through MCP without affecting other providers.\n\nRefs #1860
Restored Exa's unauthenticated MCP fallback when neither auth storage nor EXA_API_KEY provides credentials. Preserved API-key search ordering and bounded the MCP request with the web-search hard timeout. Updated provider copy and regression coverage for the no-key path.\n\nFixes #1860
- Renamed `TodoWriteTool` to `TodoTool` and its source/prompt files.
- Updated tool registration, schema, renderers, and gating to `todo`.
- Adjusted cursor provider native tool names and tests to match.
- Renamed strike-animation constants and `todo-error-reminder` type.
- Expanded path parsing to split top-level comma, semicolon, and whitespace entries.
- Updated find/search and scope resolution to apply delimiter expansion before path-spec validation.
- Updated read tool fallback to try split path parts before raising missing-path errors.
- Coerced bare string arguments into singleton arrays for array-typed schemas.
ExaProvider.isAvailable() and searchExa() now consult AuthStorage so Exa credentials configured through the broker/credential store work alongside EXA_API_KEY, matching the other API-key search providers.
Refs #1695
- Passed ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_BASE_URL through to Anthropic web search calls that use authStorage fallback credentials instead of only applying it with ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_API_KEY.
- Added regression coverage asserting fallback Anthropic credentials use the search-specific base URL.
- Updated the environment and web_search docs to reflect the actual credential and base URL resolution order.
Fixes#1694
- Expanded the existing entries in docs/environment-variables.md so the override-semantics ('search-only, isolates from main ANTHROPIC_API_KEY / ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL / FOUNDRY_BASE_URL') are spelled out, and added a usage note for enterprise-gateway split routing.
- Surfaced the search-only env vars (ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_API_KEY / ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_BASE_URL / ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_MODEL) in the Anthropic provider section of docs/tools/web_search.md, where users were already looking.
- Added ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_BASE_URL alongside ANTHROPIC_SEARCH_API_KEY in 'omp --help' so the pair shows up together in the CLI env-var summary.
Fixes#1694
- Changed `AgentOutputManager` to use requested names verbatim, adding `-2`/`-3` suffixes only on repeats (e.g. `Anna`, `Anna-2`).
- Renamed main agent id from `0-Main` to `Main`; nested ids now use dot notation without numeric prefix (e.g. `Parent.Child`).
- Updated task widget to render dotted hierarchy as `Parent>Child` breadcrumb without leading index.
- Resume scan now tracks seen names instead of a counter to avoid clobbering prior outputs.
- Added `agent()` in JS/Python preludes to call host bridge and parse returned text when schema is set.
- Added JS `parallel()` and `pipeline()` with bounded `__pool()` pools and concurrency normalization.
- Added `runEvalAgent` bridge logic with argument parsing plus plan-mode, allowlist, depth, and artifacts checks.
- Added tool routing and tests documenting new `agent/parallel/pipeline` behavior, defaults, and validation failures.
- Added `replace block N:` syntax in grammar/parser/tokenizer/types, emitting `kind: "block"` edits with empty-body checks.
- Added block-resolution in hashline apply/recovery, wiring `BlockResolver` to resolve edits with throw/drop unresolved behavior.
- Added native `blockRangeAt` support and exported block range/options types through pi-ast, pi-natives, and JS bindings.
- Added coding-agent resolver wiring plus internal visibility/exports updates and new parser, patcher, and setup-wizard tests.
- Replaced bare `A B` range headers with `replace N..M:`, `delete N..M`, `insert before N:`, `insert after N:`, `insert head:`, and `insert tail:`.
- Removed `&A..B` repeat rows; insert-before/after ops now express the same intent explicitly.
- Empty replace bodies now error instead of deleting; `delete` is the canonical deletion op.
- Updated grammar, prompt, docs, tests, and all call sites to the new syntax.
- Added a `hashRecognized` field to `MismatchDetails` and `MismatchError`, defaulting it to `true` for compatibility.
- Updated stale mismatch rejection messaging to distinguish drifted hashes from session-absent hashes with explicit guidance.
- Propagated `hashRecognized: snapshot !== null` in `Patcher` and added tests for both mismatch branches.
- Prepended `¶path#TAG` hashline header to plain file, ACP-bridge, and conflict resolution write results.
- Bulk conflict resolutions emit a trailing `Snapshots:` block with one header per written file.
- Suppressed when hashline display mode is disabled or for archive/SQLite/internal-URL targets.
- Added tests covering header presence, patcher usability, and disabled-mode suppression.
- Rejected bare `A` anchors; single-line ranges must now be spelled `A A`.
- Added a descriptive error for single-number headers to guide model output.
- Updated grammar, tokenizer, prompt docs, and tests to reflect the change.
- Redesigned hashline patch syntax from anchor-based (`A-B:`) to hunk-header format (`@@ A..B @@`) with unified-diff compatibility.
- Removed `autoDropPureInsertDuplicates` option and simplified apply behavior to preserve duplicated boundary and context lines.
- Changed repeat operator from `^A-B` to `&A..B` and range separator from `-` to `..` for consistency with hunk-header syntax.
- Added image resizing and dimension notes to eval tool output; improved write tool hashline header sanitation for legacy formats.
- Removed 521 lines of boundary-duplicate absorption code and simplified parser to auto-convert bare body rows and unified-diff contamination.
- Replaced 4-hex content-derived file hashes with 3-hex opaque tags minted by InMemorySnapshotStore, making tags session-bound pointers rather than content fingerprints.
- Removed lru-cache dependency; replaced LRU-bounded per-path rings with a flat 4096-slot global ring using a scrambled permutation to prevent LLM tag extrapolation.
- Made SnapshotStore required in Patcher (was optional); tag resolution now drives stale-anchor detection instead of recomputing hashes at apply time.
- Changed literal payload sigil from `|` to `+` and accepted `^A` shorthand for `^A-A`; added lenient recovery for bare bodies, lone `-` rows, and overlapping bare/concrete block pairs.
- Added a dedicated @oh-my-pi/hashline package with parser, patcher, filesystem, snapshots, and release metadata.
- Migrated coding-agent hashline and stream entrypoints to @oh-my-pi/hashline and removed old hashline module exports.
- Changed multi-section hashline execution to validate section hashes and flush diagnostics only at the final commit.
- Added session fileSnapshotStore support and rewired edit/read/search/write tools to use it instead of fileReadCache.
- Changed multiline payload syntax so continuation lines must start with `+`; that prefix is stripped before writing.
- Raw unprefixed lines after an op now throw an error instead of being silently accepted as payload.
- Removed `PAYLOAD_LINE_PREFIX_DEMOTED_WARNING` and the nested-replace demotion path; inner `N:` ops inside a pending `A-B:` now raise an overlap error.
- Raw blank lines between ops are ignored; use `+` alone for an empty payload line.
- Changed identical `A-B:` duplicate ops to last-wins coalesce with a warning, fixing spurious anchor-conflict errors when models emit before/after pairs.
- Non-identical overlap shapes (different ranges, replace+delete, delete+delete) still throw.
- Added new file hash line to edit tool result output after successful apply.
- Updated type signature to show `paths` accepts `string | string[]` instead of only arrays.
- Clarified that single string paths are wrapped into a one-element list before resolution.
- Improved prompt instructions to explicitly show both string and array usage patterns.
