can1357 37a8203f94 refactor(coding-agent): standardized tool intent handling via unified intent option
- Replaced `AgentTool` `nointent` and `deriveIntent` with a unified `intent` option that supports `omit`, `optional`, `require`, or a callback function.
- Updated agent tool schema injection and execution paths to inject `_i` as required/optional/omitted and to derive intent through the new `intent` callback.
- Aligned atom-edit tests with the updated default sed behavior (`g` now off by default and explicit `g: true` for global replacement).

can1357 18085ac704 feat(coding-agent): added optional tool intent derivation and opt-out support
- Added `nointent` and `deriveIntent` to `AgentTool`, and made intent-schema injection honor `PI_NO_INTENT` plus per-tool opt-outs.
- Updated tool execution and streaming UI handling to derive a fallback intent when `_i` is absent, without aborting on derivation failures.
- Marked several coding tools as `nointent` and added `deriveIntent` callbacks where needed, then relaxed prompt language to indicate intent is present on most tools.

can1357 5d6f8a7951 fix(anthropic): restricted strict tools to allowlist and fixed minItems on objects
- Limited strict tool candidates to a named allowlist instead of all opt-in tools.
- Fixed `minItems` stripping to target object-typed schema nodes, not just arrays.
- Enabled strict mode on all remaining coding-agent tools now that the allowlist guards eligibility.

can1357 fd42aa4c8f fix(coding-agent): adjusted strict validation settings across coding-agent tools
- Updated `CustomToolAdapter` to read `strict` from the wrapped tool instead of hard-coding it.
- Disabled strict validation for `LspTool` and `ResolveTool` by setting their `strict` flags to false.
- Updated `YieldTool` to set `strict` false in its fallback path and remove the local strict accumulator.

can1357 e89b3cf7e8 feat(coding-agent/tools): added examples to coding-agent tools
- Added `examples` support to `StringEnum` schemas and propagated it to tool metadata.
- Added concise descriptions and example values across coding-agent tool schemas for clearer guidance.
- Documented the new StringEnum examples capability in `packages/ai/CHANGELOG.md`.
- Cast `real` to `HASHLINE_BIGRAMS` elements in `staleBigramFor` test setup.

can1357 3c8aced08c feat(resolve): pass through source result details and mark failed applies
The resolve tool now preserves the underlying tool result's details on
ResolveToolDetails.sourceResultDetails instead of dropping them, and
the renderer distinguishes a failed apply ("Failed") from a user
discard ("Discard") so errored applies are no longer mislabelled.

can1357 ea9c46262f feat(coding-agent): introduced /force command and ToolChoiceQueue for directive management
- Added `/force` slash command and `ToolChoiceQueue` system for managing tool-choice directives with lifecycle callbacks and requeue semantics.
- Added `setForcedToolChoice()`, `peekQueueInvoker()`, `buildToolChoice()`, `steer()`, and `getToolChoiceQueue()` methods to AgentSession and ToolSession APIs.
- Refactored tool-choice override mechanism from simple override to queue-based system with generator directives, lifecycle callbacks, and requeue preservation.
- Removed `PendingActionStore` class and replaced with `ToolChoiceQueue`; updated `ResolveTool` and custom tool loader to use queue invokers.
- Fixed tool-choice queue cleanup on agent loop abort and requeue semantics to preserve callbacks across abort cycles.

can1357 a21a542afd refactor(prompt-templates): migrated prompt utilities to pi-utils package
- Extracted prompt rendering and formatting utilities from coding-agent to centralized pi-utils package with new API surface (prompt.render, prompt.format, prompt.registerHelper).
- Migrated parseFrontmatter utility from coding-agent to pi-utils package; updated 8 files to import from @oh-my-pi/pi-utils.
- Removed 170-line prompt-format.ts module and consolidated 192 lines of Handlebars helper registrations into pi-utils prompt module.
- Updated 60+ files across coding-agent and typescript-edit-benchmark to use new prompt.render() and prompt.format() API from pi-utils.
- Simplified prompt-templates.ts by delegating core functionality to pi-utils while retaining custom helper registrations (jtdToTypeScript, jsonStringify, etc.).

can1357 e31f2ef6f0 refactor: simplified null checks using optional chaining across TypeScript and Rust modules
- Simplified null/empty checks across TypeScript codebase using optional chaining operator (?.) for improved readability.
- Replaced explicit null checks in validation logic with optional chaining in oauth-discovery, gemini-cli, claude, zai, and lsp modules.
- Updated error handling in Rust command invocation to use double question mark operator (??) for cmd_result.
- Consolidated null validation patterns across tools (bash-skill-urls, browser, gemini-image, resolve) and keybindings using optional chaining.

can1357 6da102a11b feat(coding-agent): pass reason to apply/reject callbacks in PendingAction
PendingAction.apply() and reject() now receive the reason string that was
passed to resolve(). This lets custom tools surface the agent's rationale
in their apply/discard output or use it for logging.

- PendingAction interface: apply(reason) and reject?(reason)
- CustomToolPendingAction: same signatures, reject is optional
- CustomToolLoader: threads reject through when building PendingAction
- AstEditTool: accepts _reason (unused, reserved for future tracing)
- resolve.test: covers reason forwarding on apply and reject paths,
and verifies reject return value replaces the default discard message
- docs/resolve-tool-runtime.md: updated interface table, built-in
producer description, usage example, and developer guidance

can1357 c3d0bd9773 feat(coding-agent): deferrable tools, LIFO pending-action stack, custom tool pushPendingAction
- Introduce `deferrable?: boolean` on AgentTool, CustomTool, and ToolDefinition.
AstEditTool sets it to true; resolve is now injected only when at least one
active tool is deferrable (previously unconditional).

- Replace single-slot PendingActionStore (set/get/clear) with a LIFO stack
(push/peek/pop/clear). Multiple deferrable tools can stage independent
preview actions; resolve always consumes the topmost one first.

- Wire pendingActionStore through discoverAndLoadCustomTools / loadCustomTools /
CustomToolLoader so custom tools can call pushPendingAction(action) to
register a resolve-compatible pending action with label, apply callback,
  optional details, and optional sourceToolName.

- Export HIDDEN_TOOLS and ResolveTool from the SDK for manual tool composition.

- Add CustomToolPendingAction type and pushPendingAction to CustomToolAPI.

- Update createAgentSession to re-inject or remove resolve after the deferrable
  audit, consistent with createTools behavior.

- Add LIFO resolve test, update existing tests (set -> push, get -> peek).

- Add docs/resolve-tool-runtime.md covering PendingActionStore internals,
built-in producer example, and custom tool usage guide.

- Simplified resolve tool output rendering from boxed layout to inline highlighted format for cleaner display.
- Updated resolve tool to parse source tool name from label using colon separator instead of separate metadata field.
- Replaced CachedOutputBlock with direct line rendering using padToWidth and inverse styling.
- Removed actionBadge helper function and consolidated action/state logic into single rendering path.
