Márton Danóczyandcan1357 7708f372b5 fix(hashline,coding-agent): key snapshot tag on actually-persisted content after ACP bridge writes
Root cause of the reported "edit tool silently reformats the whole
file" corruption: fs/write_text_file has no verbatim guarantee. When
an ACP client (e.g. Zed with format_on_save: on) reformats a buffer
on save, routeWriteThroughBridge reported the pre-write content as
successfully written, and Patcher.commit keyed the returned snapshot
tag on that same pre-write text instead of what actually landed on
disk. The next edit anchored on that tag then resolved hunks against
a baseline the file had already drifted away from, which is what
produced whole-file "corruption" from single-line hunks -- reproduced
live in this session against real Swift/JSON/TypeScript files with
Zed as the ACP client.

- routeWriteThroughBridge reads the file back after the bridge write
and returns the verified content plus a drift flag (best-effort:
ACP defines no ordering between the client acking the write and its
own async format-on-save settling, so this degrades gracefully to
the old stale-tag-on-next-read failure mode, never to corruption).
- HashlineFilesystem.writeText propagates that verified content in
  view-space (the same space readText returns -- e.g. a notebook's
editable cell text, not its raw JSON), not storage-space, so tag
validation on the next edit compares like with like.
- Patcher.commit keys fileHash/header/snapshot on the verified
post-write content (normalized, so BOM/line-ending restoration never
produces a false "drift") when it diverges from what was sent, and
appends a warning naming the drift -- but deliberately leaves the
returned `after` (and therefore the model-visible diff) scoped to
the intended hunk. Diffing against the full drifted file would
balloon the tool response to span every reformatted line (measured
~6.8x inflation on a 245-line file with one touched line); the
warning is the correct O(1) channel for "your editor reformatted
  this," not an O(file-size) diff.
- write.ts keys its own snapshot header on the verified bridge content
too (no diff-size concern there since write always replaces the
  whole file).

Caught via code review (dispatched against the first pass of this
fix): a naive "just use the verified content everywhere" fix broke
.ipynb editing outright (write-space vs read-space content mismatch,
tag invalid on every notebook edit) and would have inflated every
drifted edit response by ~6.8x. Both are now covered by regression
tests that fail against the pre-fix code and pass against this one.

can1357 d50cc4e2d3 feat(coding-agent): made hashline seen-line guard opt-in via edit.enforceSeenLines
- Added the `enforceSeenLines` option to hashline `PatcherOptions` (defaults `true`); the seen-line guard in `Patcher` now runs only when enabled.
- Added the `edit.enforceSeenLines` coding-agent setting (default off) and wired it through `edit/hashline/execute.ts` into the `Patcher`.
- Stopped `file-snapshot-store` excluding column-clipped (>512-char) lines from a snapshot's seen set, so single-line edits on long lines apply without a full-width re-read.
- Updated `seen-line-guard` tests and the hashline/coding-agent changelogs.

roboomp 065f0da7c2 fix(lsp): threaded tool abort signal through ACP-bridge notify
Bridge-backed writes now respect tool timeout/cancel: routeWriteThroughBridge takes an optional AbortSignal and forwards it to notifyWorkspaceWatchedFiles, so a wedged LSP server no longer hangs the bridge path.

Updated write, replace, patch, and hashline callers to pass the tool signal.

roboomp c21cb6325a fix(coding-agent): wrap hashline multi-section aggregate in shared snapshot cap
The hashline multi-section path in `executeHashlineSingle` returned
`perFileResults: rendered.map(r => r.perFileResult)` directly. Each
per-section result had already been individually pruned by
`renderSection`, but the whole array bypassed the shared aggregate
budget added in 3987969 — a single hashline payload touching many files
with sub-32 KB snapshots each could still serialize unbounded snapshot
bytes into one session JSONL line.

Wrap the multi-section return in `pruneOversizedEditSnapshots`, which
delegates to `capPerFileSnapshots` and enforces the shared cap walking
left-to-right; early sections keep their ACP diff visualization, later
sections in a many-file batch degrade to text-only.

End-to-end regression test seeds five real on-disk files (~10 KB
combined snapshots each), runs a multi-section hashline SWAP via
`executeHashlineSingle`, and asserts the aggregate result holds the
cumulative kept snapshot bytes under `MAX_EDIT_SNAPSHOT_TEXT_CHARS`
with at least one section pruned.

roboomp 9e4e0f6691 fix(coding-agent): bounded edit-tool oldText/newText snapshots in tool-result details
Edit-tool results carried the full pre/post file content in
`details.oldText` / `details.newText`. For large files this bloated each
per-turn JSONL line by hundreds of KB even though the snapshots are
never sent to the LLM (provider serializers send only `content`) and
only consumed by the ACP event mapper for diff visualization.

Add `pruneOversizedEditSnapshots` and apply it at every site that
constructs an `EditToolDetails` / `EditToolPerFileResult`:
`executePatchSingle`, `executeReplaceSingle`, hashline `renderSection`
(delete + update branches), and both aggregators in `edit/index.ts`.
When combined `oldText` + `newText` exceeds 32 KB the helper returns a
shallow copy with both fields omitted; smaller edits pass through
unchanged. The diff, path, firstChangedLine, op, move, and diagnostics
fields are preserved, and ACP returns no diff content for over-budget
files (the text content still flows — graceful degradation).

Theo Mathieu d283d5c2db fix: lift bridge guard+hygiene into shared helper; add parity tests
Addresses all three review concerns from @roboomp and @chatgpt-codex-connector:

1. **Contract regression fixed**: guard
(extracted from ) is now called by all four write sites.
Internal-URL paths (e.g. ) and the active plan file
in plan mode are never routed to the editor bridge.

2. **Bridge call hygiene**: bridge calls are now wrapped in ,
    is called, and
is bumped — matching the contract already had.

3. **Tests**: adds 6 parity tests
(2 per write site) mirroring :
   - routes plain workspace writes through the bridge, skips writethrough
   - writes local plan artifacts to disk instead of the ACP bridge

**Shared module**: exports
 and (guard +
bridge call + ToolError wrap + invalidateFsScanAfterWrite +
bumpFileMutationVersion). All four write sites call it; the duplicated
6-line pattern is gone. is simplified to use the same helper
instead of its private method.

Theo Mathieu e21904e093 fix: route edit/patch/replace writes through ACP client bridge
When Zed (or another ACP client) advertises the fs.writeTextFile
capability, the write tool already routes through it so the editor's
open buffer is updated immediately. The edit, patch, and replace modes
were missing this path — they always wrote directly to disk via the LSP
writethrough, leaving open buffers stale and requiring a workspace
reload before Zed's TypeScript diagnostics panel would reflect the
changes.

All three modes now check for an ACP bridge with writeTextFile support
and route through it when available, falling back to the existing LSP
writethrough path otherwise.

roboompandcan1357 77a68b1070 fix(coding-agent): broke runaway edit loops and capped bash artifact spew
Two pathologies surfaced in the same captured failure (#2081): a subagent
spent 16 minutes hammering 205 `edit` calls (182 byte-identical no-ops)
against a file that already matched its payload, while a sibling bash
invocation persisted 7.6MB of PowerShell rich-object metadata to
`~/.omp/agent/artifacts/<id>.bash.log` from what was intended as a small
tail. Both are addressed independently here:

- Hashline executor now consults a per-ToolSession `noopLoopGuard` that
hashes the raw patch input and tracks consecutive no-ops per canonical
path. After NOOP_HARD_LIMIT (3) repeats of the same payload the soft
"byte-identical" hint escalates to a thrown ToolError, which the agent
loop surfaces as a tool failure rather than success-with-text — far
more effective at breaking the loop than the soft hint alone. A
non-noop commit (or any variant payload) resets the counter; state is
isolated per ToolSession so subagents cannot inherit each other's
  history.
- OutputSink artifact-on-disk writes are now bounded by
  `artifactMaxBytes` (default 4 MiB = 3 MiB head + 1 MiB rolling tail).
Once the head budget is exhausted, subsequent chunks divert into a
fixed-size tail ring; `dump()` replays the ring behind a single
  `[ARTIFACT TRUNCATED: kept first … + last … of …; … elided from the
middle]` notice before closing the sink. Setting `artifactMaxBytes: 0`
restores the historical unbounded behavior. Sized comfortably above
anything a model would reasonably scroll through via the artifact URL
scheme while preventing the captured 7.6MB spray from sitting on disk.

The terminal-typing lag the reporter observed has multiple compounding
causes (transcript-render freezing is disabled on win32; the bash result
renderer lacks the per-render cache that the eval renderer already has).
Those land in a follow-up — the loop guard + artifact cap address the
root pathologies that turned the session into a multi-MB transcript in
the first place.
