- Replaced global search query mutation logic with a dedicated `Input` instance so typing now supports cursor movement, word deletion, and other editor hotkeys.
- Updated search banner rendering to display the embedded input line with live cursor while preserving match-count formatting and prompt width handling.
- Extended `Input` with a configurable prompt and end-of-value cursor placement, then updated memory-search tests for the new hotkey-driven editor behavior.
- Added fuzzy search preprocessing to normalize case, camelCase, and punctuation.
- Added token and phrase scoring for exact, prefix, substring, acronym, and compact hits.
- Added fuzzyRank to return {item, score}-ranked matches and delegated fuzzyFilter to it.
- Updated settings search tabs to sort by best score, keep original-order ties, and mute unmatched tabs.
- Detached async task progress rows stopped running a redraw driver and task progress rendering switched running/pending rows to static task-icon text.
- Background task snapshots were frozen once blocks left the transcript live region, preventing later partial snapshots from repainting commit-eligible rows.
- Updated task-progress and detached-background-task tests to validate static task rows and the new freeze behavior.
- Ensured flattened chain rows under a `└─` branch are anchored by a vertical line one level right of the suppressed gutter (below the branch head's content), never in the `└─` corner column itself, resolving visual issues #2298 and #2325.
Fixes#2325.
- Updated `settings-selector-memory-refresh.test.ts` to assert the cross-tab search banner's cursor rendering (`b▌`) instead of the old `Search: b` label when verifying Escape clears the search before closing the selector.
- Fixed `/dump` output (`session-dump-format.ts`) and the RPC `get_state` `dumpTools` payload (`rpc-mode.ts`) serializing Zod schema instances — leaking `def`/`shape` internals and stringified methods — by converting parameters through `zodToWireSchema` like providers receive.
- Fixed context-usage token estimation stringifying the Zod `def` tree, which overcounted tool schema tokens in the status line.
- Fixed tool-discovery indexing (`tool-index.ts`) returning empty `schemaKeys` for Zod tools, weakening BM25 ranking; keys are now recovered via wire conversion.
- Fixed the extension inspector panel rendering "(no arguments)" for Zod tools by reading properties off the converted wire schema.
- Added coverage in `tool-index.test.ts` plus new `context-usage.test.ts` and `session-dump-format.test.ts`, and a changelog entry.
Also normalizes setting labels/descriptions and carries the package changelog entries for this batch (adjacent unreleased bullets are not splittable per commit), restoring section placement disturbed by the two prior changelog hunks.
- Caught and logged npm `PluginManager.list()` rejections in `PluginSettingsComponent`, returning an empty plugin list so the settings tab no longer stays blank when plugin listing fails.
- Added tests covering Escape handling while lists are loading and marketplace rendering when npm listing rejects.
Removed the dead settings selector submenu guard so Escape reaches the active settings or plugins child component. Added a regression test for closing an open settings submenu before the parent selector.
Fixes#2331
Reorders sections in the streaming call preview to match `renderResult` and the
schema's field order. This prevents visual jumps when the preview transitions
to a result and ensures append-only growth of streamed content.
Additionally, omits the agent-list divider when no agent rows are present.
- Added smooth streaming reveal of streamed tool-call args and `{ input }` partial previews.
- Integrated ToolArgsRevealController in EventController to route partial and final args.
- Implemented UTF-16-safe slicing to prevent surrogate-pair splits during reveal boundaries.
- Implemented reveal lifecycle controls to flush or stop streamed arg frames at message boundaries.
- Added tests for monotonic reveal progression, non-smooth immediate output, and flush/stop behavior.
- Added transcript and assistant block version tracking for finalized segments.
- Changed committed block reuse logic to require prior finalization and same version.
- Fixed rerendering of committed finalized blocks when version values changed.
- Updated the catalog changelog by removing a duplicate `Fixed` heading and leaving the NVIDIA Qwen fix in the current release notes.
- Restructured the coding-agent changelog by moving unresolved fixes into Unreleased and removing duplicated historical entries.
- Added `requestComponentRender` to mocked `ui` objects in coding-agent controller tests to match the updated interface.
Only chain rows should force their nearest connector gutter back to vertical.
Inherited gutters from older last-sibling ancestors must stay suppressed so
linear continuations under nested branched grandchildren do not draw floating
vertical lines below unrelated branch connectors.
Updated the TUI renderer, mirrored the HTML export renderer, regenerated the
HTML template, and extended the #2298 regression to cover nested branched
grandchildren with linear continuations.
Fixes#2298
The /tree selector and HTML session export rendered chain rows (flattened
user/assistant turns) with bare spaces when their nearest branched ancestor
was the last sibling, breaking the visual connection back to the branch
parent.
Cause: tree-selector.ts and export/html/template.js propagated
`show: !isLast` to descendant gutters, so any chain row under a `└─`
ancestor rendered the gutter as space instead of `│`. Branched
grandchildren correctly need that space to keep standard tree drawing, but
chain-flattened conversation rows lost their anchor.
Fix: at render time, when the row has no connector of its own (chain row),
force the gutter to `│` regardless of the ancestor's `show` flag. Rows
with their own connector still respect the `show` flag so a `│` never
floats below an unrelated `└─` for branched descendants.
Applied identically in tree-selector.ts (TUI) and export/html/template.js
(HTML export, regenerated into template.generated.ts).
Fixes#2298
Registers a HistoryProtocolHandler with the internal URL router: history:// lists every registered agent (id, status, kind, last activity) and history://<agentId> renders a concise markdown transcript (tool calls collapsed to one line each, thinking elided). Live refs render from the in-memory message array; parked refs load read-only from the JSONL session file via loadSessionMessagesReadOnly (no writer, no lock). System prompt + read tool prompt + docs/tools/read.md learn the new scheme.
The session-observer overlay is gone. The Agent Hub (ctrl+s, alt+a, or double-tap left arrow on an empty editor) presents one overlay with two views: a live registry table (status, unread irc count, current task, last activity; j/k to navigate, r to revive, x to abort/release) and per-agent chat (transcript + input line) — submitting revives a parked agent and steers it via the normal prompt path. Main is the ambient chat and stays out of the table.\n\nrenderInitialMessages no longer takes a prebuilt context: every redraw now reaches for AgentSession.buildTranscriptSessionContext() (full-history transcript with each compaction emitted inline at the point it fired, snapcompact frames re-attached on rebuild). UiHelpers drops the deferred-compaction render and the IRC autoreply branch that the new mailbox bus deprecated. CompactionSummaryMessage renders as a slim divider (── 📷 compacted · ctrl+o ──), expanding to the summary + snapcompact frame count. session-manager.buildSessionContext gains a { transcript: true } mode; an exported buildSessionContextFromFile() reads a session file without taking the writer lock so the hub chat view can tail any agent (parked or live). Theme picks up icon.camera + tool.irc symbol entries.
- Added type-to-search filtering across setting labels, IDs, values, and descriptions.
- Preserved selected item focus by ID when replacing settings during an active filter.
- Displayed search status, empty-filter hints, and no-match messaging while searching.
- Updated Escape handling to clear an active query before cancelling the list.
- Applied selection and navigation to filtered items to keep behavior consistent under search.
- Capped live transcript IRC cards at four and evicted oldest cards when over limit.
- Reworked IRC card expiry handling to retire cards via timers only while live.
- Added rewrite-floor tracking so rewritten rows are not repeatedly promoted to scrollback.
- Handled frame shrink by re-anchoring windowTop and chunkTo at commit boundaries.
- Reset committedRows when the frame shrank into committed content to keep history immutable.
- Treated geometryChanged like overlay when advancing chunkTo to stabilize repaint commit timing.
- Updated regressions to assert stable scrollback prefixes and no clear-home/dclear repaint bytes.
- Removed terminal risk mode toggles from config, terminal state collection, and render controllers.
- Dropped snapshot freezing, thaw tracking, and finalized-block replay in transcript rendering.
- Removed clear-on-shrink settings and initialization hooks from selector and interactive mode flows.
- Simplified render scheduling by using requestRender() without mutation flags or stream checkpoints.
MCP OAuth fallback prompts now emit an auth-safe terminal hyperlink even when auto-detection disables normal URL hyperlinks, matching the provider login behavior while preserving the raw copy URL.\n\nFixes #2196
- Dropped blank lines, capped at 8 lines, and width-truncated each line so a proxy 502's HTML body can't flood the transcript.
- Mirrored the pinned error banner's preview behavior; full text still kept in the persisted session.
Rendered the MCP OAuth fallback as a short terminal hyperlink plus a single unwrapped copy URL line so terminals do not receive hard-broken authorization URLs.\n\nFixes #2121
- Derived descriptors, default-model map, env keys, login list, and refresh dispatch from one ProviderDefinition per provider.
- Disabled OpenAI Codex stream obfuscation and interrupted whitespace-only tool-call argument deltas.
- Derived auth-broker callback ports and paste-code login set from the registry.
- Reworked classic and KITT shimmer intensity math to drive the scan head by a constant 30 cells/second.
- Introduced length-aware travel periods for classic padding and KITT ping-pong motion while removing the prior fixed-duration phase helpers.
- Updated shimmer tests to validate crest movement stays within one cell per 30fps frame and is consistent across text lengths.
- Synchronized shimmer progression by switching `shimmer.ts` to a shared 2-second phase sweep, with crest/head position interpolated across the full visible span.
- Updated classic and KITT intensity calculations so shimmer starts at index 0 and reaches index length-1 together for any task row length.
- Adjusted shimmer tests to assert crest boundary and phase alignment behavior across short and long strings.
- Added atomicTokenPattern support to treat image and paste markers as indivisible tokens, enabling atomic deletion on backspace and forward-delete instead of character-by-character removal.
- Extended image marker format to include pixel dimensions [Image #N, WxH] and updated paste marker format to [Paste #N, +X lines] or [Paste #N, Y chars] with consistent comma-separated metadata.
- Implemented accent styling for paste markers in editor rendering while preserving hyperlinks for image markers, improving visual distinction between marker types.
- Refactored image reference handling to unified placeholder system supporting both image and paste markers with kind-aware rendering callbacks and regex patterns.
These three suites encoded pre-refactor behavior and broke the 15.10.3 release CI.
- event-controller read grouping: the group header count now reflects aggregated
display rows (distinct files), and a mid-turn visible-reasoning break finalizes
the prior group but keeps it live until pending reads settle (97ae0fd3, b5eff5b3).
- gallery harness: lsp no longer attaches an instance renderer (custom rendering
removed in d9d06134), so the custom-branch regression guard is retargeted to
task, which still attaches its renderer and merges call+result.
- eager-todo enforcement: the prelude reminder converts to a developer-role
message now that auxiliary messages map to developer for compaction (e13f2de5).
- Added a LateDiagnosticsMessageComponent to render delayed LSP diagnostics as grouped tree nodes in transcript messages.
- Updated message handling to use that component and honor tool-output expansion while reusing shared diagnostics formatting.
- Added tests for shared rendering output, collapsed/expanded limits, and empty diagnostics behavior.
- Handled SGR mouse motion reports in `PlanReviewOverlay` to set hovered options from hit-test rows and clear highlights outside option rows.
- Updated option rendering to paint a background band on hovered, non-disabled options while preserving keyboard selection behavior.
- Enabled any-motion mouse tracking for overlays and expanded regression coverage to verify hover tracking setup and teardown.
- Added `isUserInterruptAbort` and `shouldRenderAbortReason` helpers so interrupt handling can distinguish Esc-based aborts from other abort reasons.
- Updated assistant transcript rendering to suppress the `Interrupted by user` line while continuing to show generic or other abort labels.
- Updated plan-review and transcript container tests to assert interrupted assistant messages no longer render the redundant interrupt line.
