The Roles panel renderer looped from the first row with a hard height cap and no scroll offset, so roles and model-keyed fallback chains past the visible height were never drawn and unreachable by keyboard, with no truncation indicator. Unlike the sibling provider list (model-browser windows via #windowStart/#ensureSelectedVisible), the Roles panel had no equivalent.
Window #renderRolesView around #roleIndex via #ensureRoleVisible, offset mouse hit-testing by the scroll start bounded to the visible count, and draw an up/down '+N more' hint when the list is clipped.

- Exported stopSharedSpinnerTicker() and wired it into InteractiveMode.stop(): a live block missed by per-component stopAnimation kept the shared 80ms interval alive as a lingering event-loop handle; the spinner suite uses it to observe a freshly armed ticker instead of one leaked by earlier files
- Title-disposal tests now save/clear/restore PI_NO_TITLE (main() in ACP/RPC mode sets it process-wide), matching the prewarm and orphan-submit precedent
Mirrors the composer's raw-sequence fallback (editor.ts:1466) so
\x1b[13;2~ triggers summarize-and-switch instead of being dropped as
shift+f3, completing the parity requested in issue #8821.
The composer accepts three encodings for Shift+Enter (kitty CSI-u, the
legacy \x1b[13;2~ form, and a bare LF from the iTerm2 mapping e.g. Claude
Code's /terminal-setup). The /tree selector only handled the kitty form and
silently routed a bare LF into the plain-Enter branch, so summarize-and-
switch never fired for those terminals.
Mirror the composer: fall through a bare LF to summarize-and-switch while
plain CR (or the decoded Enter key) still does a plain switch.

Persistence is lazy: getSessionFile() returns an allocated path from the
start, but the JSONL is only materialized once an assistant message (or an
explicit ensureOnDisk()) crosses the persistence gate. The shutdown banner
printed the resume hint based solely on the path, so any session that ended
before the first assistant message advertised a copy-pasteable command that
always fails with Session not found.
Gate the hint on the new SessionManager#isSessionOnDisk() (file exists in
the active storage backend) and add unit tests.

The first HUD commit hid Name: Name. The cause was earlier: task
name was copied into identity.label, which became progress.description
and skipped generateTaskLabel. Keep the handle for id allocation, but
only treat eval label as a real UI description so the tiny-model
summary can run.
The anchored Subagents list printed only `Id: description` and treated a
label that repeated the spawn handle as a real description. Show the same
⟨role⟩ badge as inline task rows and omit descriptions that only echo the id.
Current Finder Cmd+C pasteboards advertise both a public.file-url and a
generated 1024x1024 file-icon bitmap. arboard::get_image() succeeded with
the icon, so handleImagePaste attached it before readMacFileUrlsFromClipboard
was reached, sending a generic PNG document icon to vision models instead of
the copied screenshot.
Probe the Darwin file URLs before the bitmap representation so an image-file
URL wins over the co-advertised icon. Pure bitmap pasteboards (screenshots,
browser copies) and non-image file URLs still fall through to the image/text
paths. readMacFileUrls is a no-op off Darwin.

Every live tool block (streaming args, a running partial tool, or a task
subagent) armed its own 80ms setInterval driving requestComponentRender,
so N concurrent live blocks created N unsynchronized repaint timers that
kept the 30fps render scheduler awake near-continuously during
multi-subagent / workflowz / orchestrate work.
Replaced the per-component intervals with a single shared spinner ticker
that advances the already-phase-locked glyph once per step and repaints
every registered live block in one coalesced frame, independent of block
count. Verified 3 live blocks now share 1 timer instead of 3.

Allowed the preferred left column to grow to fit model and provider labels while retaining the minimum right-column width.
Added a regression test at the 55-column layout boundary.
Fixes#8657
The rich AskDialogComponent (merged in PR #4375) hard-truncated every
option row via truncateToWidth(firstLine, width, Ellipsis.Unicode),
clipping the disambiguating tail of long labels with no way to read it.
The legacy HookSelector dialog has wrapped labels since June 1
(3c7d50d292), so the rich dialog was the remaining truncation path.
renderRowLabel now wraps the label with wrapTextWithAnsi, indenting
continuation lines under the radio/checkbox marker so the cursor stays
visually anchored; the body ScrollView carries vertical overflow. The
note marker is reserved on the first line. Fixes#1243, #8594.
Rolled partial file appends back to their pre-write size and marked malformed resumed sessions for an atomic rewrite.
Retried transient persistence failures from in-memory state and surfaced the first failure in the interactive TUI.

- RpcClient: when stdout closes before ready, race child.exited (which settles only after ptree drains the stderr tail for nonzero exits) for 250ms before rejecting, so the earlier-registered exit watcher rejects with the real stderr text instead of an empty 'Stderr:'.
- mock-rpc-agent fixture: await the stderr pipe write callback before process.exit so failure text cannot be dropped unflushed.
- sdk-tool-activation: restore the default extension-handler budget once the intentionally stalled activation times out, so full-suite machine load cannot also time out the genuine recovery registration.
Both tests flaked only under concurrent full-suite chunk load; 10 concurrent stress runs pass post-fix.
The /hotkeys table described app.exit (Ctrl+D) as "Exit (when editor is
empty)", implying readline/EOF-style conditional exit. The handler exits
unconditionally and snapshots the current prompt as a resumable draft
regardless of editor content (custom-editor.ts fires onExit for app.exit
with no empty check; input-controller.ts handleCtrlD calls shutdown()
unconditionally, which persists the draft). Corrected the line to
"Exit (saves current prompt as draft)".
