- Replaced `grep`, `glob`, and `ast_grep` `paths` inputs with optional single `path` strings while preserving default workspace-root behavior.
- Added shared `toPathList` normalization for legacy arrays and JSON-encoded arrays across tool execution and TUI renderers.
- Updated prompts, fixtures, shims, transcript summaries, and tests to send and display the new `path` argument.
- Updated collab-web search tool cards to read `path` while falling back to legacy `paths` for historical transcripts.
- Recorded the contiguous coding-agent changelog run for the tool-path breaking change and adjacent TTS entries.
Retained only the requested AST search page window in native ast_grep/ast_match and the coding-agent multi-target wrapper while preserving exact totals.
Fixes#3935
Migrate 203 test files (356 call sites) from fs.rm/fs.rmSync to
removeWithRetries/removeSyncWithRetries to reduce EBUSY test failures
on Windows. removeWithRetries is now exported from @oh-my-pi/pi-utils.
The migration uses a regex-based approach that:
- Replaces fs.rm(path, { recursive, force }) → removeWithRetries(path)
- Replaces fs.rmSync(path, { recursive, force }) → removeSyncWithRetries(path)
- Replaces fs.rm(path) → removeWithRetries(path) (no options)
- Skips fs.rm/fs.rmSync inside template literals (bun --eval scripts)
- Adds imports to existing @oh-my-pi/pi-utils import or creates new one
- Removes unused fs imports where fs.rm was the only fs usage (4 files)
- Replaced split-by-blank parsing in grouped renderers with classifyGroupedLines.
- Introduced path-tree grouping and folding to render multi-level directory headers.
- Normalized and deduplicated grouped paths, treating URL-like entries as root files.
- Adjusted file/url context mapping to keep line links stable across blank boundaries.
- Preserved Alt and Ctrl+Alt letter ESC-prefix matching when kitty_protocol_active is true to support mixed tmux and Kitty keyboard modes.
- Parsed two-byte ESC sequences before legacy sequence lookup so mixed-mode Meta pairs are treated as Alt letter keys instead of legacy aliases.
- Updated native and TUI key tests to verify Alt+letter and Alt+Shift+letter parsing and matching while enhanced mode is active.
Fixes#1511
- Replaced snapshot internals with full-file records and removed contiguous/sparse snapshot APIs.
- Added file-hash normalization, computed `computeFileHash`, and updated grammar/messages to 4-hex tags.
- Simplified recovery by checking whole-file hashes first, then applying merge-replay fallback after mismatches.
- Updated coding-agent tools to use `record`/`recordFileSnapshot` and skip hash headers for unsnapshotted large files.
- Expanded patcher and snapshot tests to verify 4-hex anchors, hash deduplication, and cache-capped behavior.
- Redesigned hashline patch syntax from anchor-based (`A-B:`) to hunk-header format (`@@ A..B @@`) with unified-diff compatibility.
- Removed `autoDropPureInsertDuplicates` option and simplified apply behavior to preserve duplicated boundary and context lines.
- Changed repeat operator from `^A-B` to `&A..B` and range separator from `-` to `..` for consistency with hunk-header syntax.
- Added image resizing and dimension notes to eval tool output; improved write tool hashline header sanitation for legacy formats.
- Removed 521 lines of boundary-duplicate absorption code and simplified parser to auto-convert bare body rows and unified-diff contamination.
- Replaced per-line hash anchors with file-level hash validation in hashline format, changing anchor syntax from LINE+HASH to bare LINE numbers.
- Simplified hashline line separator from pipe (|) to colon (:) and replaced replace operator (->) with colon, added delete operator (!) for explicit line deletion.
- Implemented file-read snapshot caching with multi-snapshot ring buffer per path and file-hash-based recovery to detect and recover from stale edits.
- Refactored hashline grammar, parser, and execution to support file-level hash binding, anchor-scoped validation, and structural bracket warnings for delete operations.
- Updated documentation and test fixtures to reflect new hashline syntax with file hashes, colon separators, and delete operator throughout.
- Added capParseErrors in shared render utilities and updated ast_grep and ast_edit to return capped parseErrors plus parseErrorsTotal.
- Threaded the preserved totals into parse-error formatting and renderer output so labels and overflow counts report the full number of issues.
- Added an ast_grep test asserting parse errors are capped at PARSE_ERRORS_LIMIT while parseErrorsTotal retains the original count.
- Switched search/ast_grep/ast_edit/find inputs from scalar path fields to required `paths` arrays.
- Reworked path resolution to normalize and expand each `paths` entry via explicit helpers in `src/tools/path-utils.ts`.
- Updated search and find tool-call rendering to display explicit `paths` values in mode overlays and export views.
- Updated tool prompt docs and examples to document `paths` array inputs for search, grep, find, and AST tools.
- Raised the default search match limit from 20 to 500 and updated limit-reached messaging.
- Simplified diagnostic grouping output in the LSP utility to use plain `## file` headers.
- Adjusted AstEdit, AstGrep, and Grep tools to emit file headings without the `└─` tree prefix.
- Removed the GrepTool context legend text and its related guard variable from output construction.
- Consolidated grep, ast-grep, and ast-edit on required `path`, replacing `glob`/`lang`/`sel` with inline file, dir, glob, list, and URL targets.
- Changed ast-grep and grep schemas to require a single `pat` string and use `skip` pagination instead of array patterns or offsets.
- Updated argument validation to reject empty `path` and invalid `skip`, and routed grep context to session settings only.
- Updated tool prompts and tests to reflect new path globbing semantics and `first N` truncation output text.
- Added support for quoted paths in grep, ast_grep, find, and ast_edit tools to handle paths with spaces.
- Introduced normalizePathLikeInput() utility function for consistent path and glob parameter normalization across tools.
- Enhanced ast_grep error messaging to warn about parse issues and suggest narrowing path/glob or setting lang parameter.
- Added comprehensive tests for quoted path handling in grep, ast_grep, and find tools with pattern matching.
- Renamed parameter names in ast-grep and ast-edit tools from `patterns`/`selector` to `pat`/`sel` for brevity across schema, implementation, and tests.
- Expanded ast-grep and ast-edit tool documentation with 12+ new usage guidelines, examples, and critical notes on pattern syntax, metavariable placement, and error handling.
- Updated CHANGELOG.md to document parameter renames and expanded tool guidance for AST pattern syntax and metavariable usage.
- Reformatted test assertions and type annotations across ast-edit and ast-grep test files for improved readability.
- Added `glob` parameter to `ast_grep`, `ast_edit`, and `grep` tools for filtering files relative to `path`.
