The hub data-refresh teardown resets the global AgentRegistry but leaves the
cached global IrcBus bound to the discarded instance, because IrcBus captures
its registry at construction (src/irc/bus.ts). Any later file in the same
process then sends through a bus whose registry no longer knows the agents
registered after the reset.
The defect is latent at the current file ordering and surfaces as soon as suite
composition changes: with agent-hub-activate.test.ts running before
agent-session-plan-mode-convergence.test.ts, the plan-mode side-channel
auto-reply is stranded until its timeout.
Pair the two resets the way test/advisor/advisor-visibility.test.ts already
does. Reproduce with:
bun test packages/coding-agent/test/agent-hub-activate.test.ts \
packages/coding-agent/test/agent-session-plan-mode-convergence.test.ts
The empty-editor left-left gesture opens the Agent Hub whenever persisted
or parked subagents exist (intended since f3e372e7b), but the hub's own
close detector starts fresh at 0 with no handoff from the editor's
double-tap detector. The two taps that opened the hub were consumed by the
editor, so a single subsequent left did nothing and the user had to press
left-left again to escape while input and hotkeys stayed disabled.
Thread an armCloseTap option from the gesture through showAgentHub to the
new AgentHubOverlayComponent.armCloseTap(), which seeds the table's
#lastLeftTap so one more left (within the tap window) dismisses the hub.
Fixes#4780
Vibe worker roster lived only in a process-local Map, so a resumed parent
session started with an empty registry and vibe_send failed with
"Unknown vibe session". Persist a versioned, parent-scoped lifecycle
journal (spawn/turn/tombstone events), rehydrate validated idle workers
through the persisted-subagent reviver on resume, and gate the flow with
generation/CAS protection so stale finalizers cannot clobber a
replacement worker. Killed transcripts stay readable but non-revivable;
mode-exit commits tombstones atomically with the mode change and rolls
back cleanly on storage failure.
Ported from @mastertyko's fork branch fix/vibe-session-persistence.
Fixes#5303
- Added throttling and debouncing to HUD data rendering and observer UI synchronization to coalesce update bursts.
- Constrained the subagent HUD display to a maximum of 8 rows with a truncation notice for hidden sessions.
- Enhanced the session observer registry to categorize update types, enabling more granular UI reconciliation.
- Verified render coalescing and display truncation behavior with comprehensive integration tests using fake timers.
`registerPersistedSubagentsFromDir` in `packages/coding-agent/src/modes/components/agent-hub.ts` used `fs.readdirSync` recursively to walk persisted subagent directories, blocking the event loop with unbounded synchronous I/O when the Agent Hub opened. Converted `registerPersistedSubagents` and `registerPersistedSubagentsFromDir` to async functions using `fs.promises.readdir`, and changed `AgentHubOverlayComponent`'s constructor to start registration fire-and-forget, exposing `persistedSubagentsReady` so callers can observe completion. Failures are logged with `logger.warn`, rows are refreshed on success, and a final render is requested in `finally`. Verified with `bun --check packages/coding-agent/src/modes/components/agent-hub.ts` and `packages/coding-agent/test/agent-hub-activate.test.ts`.
Closes#4239
Fix all Windows-specific test failures caused by path handling problems
and EBUSY errors from unclosed SQLite database handles.
Root causes fixed:
1. POSIX path assumptions: replaced hard-coded file:///tmp, /repo, etc.
with pathToFileURL/path.resolve/path.join computed expectations
2. shortenPath() now normalizes backslashes to forward slashes after ~
and respects home directory boundaries
3. HistoryStorage.resetInstance() leaked its Database — added #close()
that finalizes all prepared statements and closes the DB
4. AgentStorage gained the same resetInstance()/#close() pattern
5. SqliteAuthCredentialStore.close() leaked one-off prepared statements
from inline this.#db.prepare() calls — wrapped each in try/finally
6. model-cache.ts used a process-global DB even for custom dbPath —
now opens/closes per-call via withModelCacheDb
7. createAgentSession leaked AuthStorage on construction failure —
added ownsAuthStorage cleanup in catch block
8. MnemopiBackend.removeDbFiles() now truly best-effort (catches errors)
9. TempDir retry window expanded from 4x10ms to 40x25ms
10. TempDir prefix convention: non-@ prefixes created dirs relative to
cwd instead of os.tmpdir() — all test temp dirs now use @ prefix
11. Shell-escaped interpolated paths in bash tool tests
12. git core.autocrlf false in autoresearch test repo init
All 522 previously-failing Windows tests now pass.
- Fixed Agent Hub display to render in editorContainer instead of floating ui overlay.
- Fixed close flow to clear editorContainer, re-add the editor, and restore editor focus.
- Updated Agent Hub activation tests and removed the probe test fixture.
- Updated OpenAI context promotion linking to resolve target models by parsed version and provider/API match instead of fixed bare ids.
- Scanned available siblings to select the plainest matching gpt-5.4 fallback so namespaced, dotted, and dated 5.5 variants promote correctly.
- Adjusted the TUI render stress shadow writer to ignore alternate-screen regions and replay only normal-screen bytes after exits.
- Added an `isEmpty` getter on `AgentHubOverlayComponent` to report whether no subagent rows were loaded.
- Extended `showAgentHub` with an optional `requireContent` flag so the overlay is disposed early when empty under the double-<- path.
- Added tests for double-<- gating behavior with no subagents, with subagents, and explicit hub-open behavior.
- Added a SessionFocusController to switch transcript and input context between main and subagent sessions.
- Added agent-hub Enter activation and double-left return behavior for focused local agents.
- Added view-session-based event and render logic to avoid stale focus-session state.
- Added status-line focused agent display with ghost icon and focused-mode border dimming.
