Key hints resolved modifier tokens through a static, platform-agnostic label map with no `super` entry, so on macOS the shipped `super+v` paste default rendered 'Super+V' (no such key on a Mac) and `alt` always rendered 'Alt' instead of 'Option'. The static /hotkeys navigation rows were hardcoded with macOS 'Option'/'Cmd' names on every platform, so Linux/Windows users saw 'Cmd+Left'.
Modifier labels are now platform-aware: on darwin `alt` renders 'Option' and `super` renders 'Cmd'; every other platform keeps 'Alt'/'Super'. The platform is resolved through a single seam (setKeyHintPlatform/keyHintPlatform) mirroring the TUI's setKittyProtocolActive, keeping hint output deterministic in tests without mutating process.platform. The static /hotkeys rows use the same convention and drop the macOS-only Cmd line-start/end fragments (which map to no binding) off darwin.
Fixes#8235
Fix all Windows-specific test failures caused by path handling problems
and EBUSY errors from unclosed SQLite database handles.
Root causes fixed:
1. POSIX path assumptions: replaced hard-coded file:///tmp, /repo, etc.
with pathToFileURL/path.resolve/path.join computed expectations
2. shortenPath() now normalizes backslashes to forward slashes after ~
and respects home directory boundaries
3. HistoryStorage.resetInstance() leaked its Database — added #close()
that finalizes all prepared statements and closes the DB
4. AgentStorage gained the same resetInstance()/#close() pattern
5. SqliteAuthCredentialStore.close() leaked one-off prepared statements
from inline this.#db.prepare() calls — wrapped each in try/finally
6. model-cache.ts used a process-global DB even for custom dbPath —
now opens/closes per-call via withModelCacheDb
7. createAgentSession leaked AuthStorage on construction failure —
added ownsAuthStorage cleanup in catch block
8. MnemopiBackend.removeDbFiles() now truly best-effort (catches errors)
9. TempDir retry window expanded from 4x10ms to 40x25ms
10. TempDir prefix convention: non-@ prefixes created dirs relative to
cwd instead of os.tmpdir() — all test temp dirs now use @ prefix
11. Shell-escaped interpolated paths in bash tool tests
12. git core.autocrlf false in autoresearch test repo init
All 522 previously-failing Windows tests now pass.
- Added ChatBlock and ChatBlockHost with mount, finish, and dispose lifecycle callbacks.
- Added InteractiveModeContext.present and resetTranscript APIs and used them to mount/repaint blocks.
- Reworked controller rendering paths to emit command, event, extension, and selector outputs via ctx.present.
- Implemented component and container dispose hooks in tui so loaders and child blocks cleanup timers/effects.
- Updated tool expand-hint rendering to use `expandKeyHint()`, which pulls the `app.tools.expand` binding and formats collapsed previews as `<key>: Expand`.
- Updated related tests in render utils and TUI regressions to assert the new hint string for default and remapped bindings.
- Added a resolve-tool regression test and changelog note covering `action: "discard"` with no pending action as a successful cancellation.
F1 (coding-agent): close the withFileLock mkdir-vs-writeLockInfo race that
let a losing contender wipe the winner's freshly-created lock directory.
Every lock now carries a per-process UUID token; releaseLock verifies the
token before fs.rm, and isLockStale no longer treats an info-less but
fresh dir (or a dir that vanished mid-check) as stale.
F4 (coding-agent): sanitize tabs and truncate oversized error strings in
formatErrorMessage so error renderings that embed file content
(apply_patch, hashline, etc.) cannot break terminal alignment or
overflow the line width.
F7 (ai): support named-tool routing on Google providers. Widens
GoogleSharedStreamOptions.toolChoice and GoogleGeminiCliOptions.toolChoice
to accept { mode: 'ANY'; allowedFunctionNames }. mapGoogleToolChoice
now converts ToolChoice { type: 'tool'|'function', name } to the wire
shape (mirroring mapAnthropicToolChoice). buildGoogleGenerateContentParams
and the gemini-cli request serializer honor the allow-list.
- Added auto-rebasing for stale atom and hashline anchors within ±2 lines, with warning diagnostics.
- Removed atom range-locator support and dropped `between` ops, updating docs/tests for `sub` over `set` nudges.
- Changed no-op handling to track unchanged hashline edits and emit contextual hints for unchanged ranges.
- Expanded Anthropic strict error handling to retry on schema-too-complex and compiled-grammar-too-large errors.
- Added anchor-retargeting warning checks and updated edit tests to expect locator and range-locator rejections.
- Updated python tool-call fixtures by adding `title` to executed-cell payloads and adjusting related test expectations.
- Added `CodeFrameMarker` and `formatCodeFrameLine()` to centralize code-frame gutter formatting.
- Extended diff rendering to preserve `|` and `│` separators, aligning gutter markers and line numbers.
- Reworked AST, grep, hashline, Vim, and diff renderers to use shared line formatting with computed `lineNumberWidth`.
- Updated atom editing flow and tests, including `resolveAtomEntryPaths` migration and new loc-based/edge-case coverage.
- Adjusted benchmark runner early-stop configuration by passing `buildEarlyStop` through prompt collection.
- Extracted screenshot formatting logic into dedicated `formatScreenshot()` function with options support.
- Consolidated prompt source deduplication into `dedupePromptSource()` helper to prevent rule duplication.
