- Added a 30s timeout for extension handlers in runner.ts so stalled callbacks now emit warnings and stop.
- Consolidated duplicated extension handler error handling by routing calls through #runHandlerWithTimeout.
- Updated ExtensionUIContext, InteractiveModeContext, and InteractiveMode to require editor factories to return CustomEditor instances.
- Removed the runtime compatibility guard and warning for non-CustomEditor implementations in setEditorComponent.
- Removed the test that verified rejection of non-CustomEditor factories in interactive-mode editor-component tests.
Some extensions/plugins still import the legacy @mariozechner/pi-* package names (pi-agent-core, pi-ai, pi-coding-agent, pi-tui) instead of @oh-my-pi/pi-*. Register a single Bun.plugin on first plugin/extension load that rewrites those specifiers to the current @oh-my-pi/pi-* equivalents, including the @mariozechner/pi-coding-agent/extensibility/{extensions,hooks} sub-exports. No filesystem mutation, no symlinks, no proxy files.

The four extension/hook/custom-tool/custom-command loaders statically
imported the package barrel `@oh-my-pi/pi-coding-agent` to expose it as
`pi` to user code. This created a self-referential cycle:
tools/index -> task -> sdk -> custom-commands/loader
-> @oh-my-pi/pi-coding-agent (package barrel)
-> modes/components -> tool-execution -> renderers
-> tools/read (TDZ on readToolRenderer)
Triggered at startup by 'omp --help' / 'omp stats --help' depending on
ESM evaluation order, manifesting as:
ReferenceError: Cannot access 'readToolRenderer' before initialization
Introduce `extensibility/pi-ref.ts` that resolves the barrel lazily via
`require` on first call. All four loaders use `getPiRef()` instead of a
static `import * as piCodingAgent`. The barrel is fully initialized by
the time any loader function actually runs, so the lookup is safe.

Three early-return paths in #runAutoCompaction emitted auto_compaction_end
with result=undefined, aborted=false, and no errorMessage when compaction
was legitimately not needed (no model selected, no candidate models
available, or nothing to compact yet). The event-controller had no way to
distinguish these benign skips from a genuine failure, and fell through to
show the warning:
'Auto context-full maintenance failed; continuing without maintenance'
This was visible after a successful compaction: the next threshold check
would find nothing new to compact (prepareCompaction returns null), emit a
soft-skip event, and trigger the false warning.
Add skipped?: boolean to the auto_compaction_end event type and set it on
the three soft-skip paths. Update the event-controller to treat skipped
events as silent no-ops. Propagate the field through the extension and
hook AutoCompactionEndEvent interfaces so extensions can observe the
distinction.

- Extracted thinking module with ThinkingEffort, ThinkingLevel, and ThinkingMode types to centralize reasoning configuration across packages.
- Migrated ThinkingLevel type from pi-agent-core to pi-ai package with new validation functions parseThinkingLevel() and getAvailableThinkingLevel().
- Consolidated thinking level constants and descriptions into reusable exports (ALL_THINKING_LEVELS, THINKING_MODE_DESCRIPTIONS) for consistent UI display.
- Removed local thinking-effort-label utility and replaced formatThinkingEffortLabel() with centralized formatThinking() function from pi-ai.
- Refactored thinking mode handling to distinguish ThinkingSelector (user-facing with 'off' option) from ThinkingEffort (provider-level).
- Introduce `deferrable?: boolean` on AgentTool, CustomTool, and ToolDefinition.
AstEditTool sets it to true; resolve is now injected only when at least one
active tool is deferrable (previously unconditional).
- Replace single-slot PendingActionStore (set/get/clear) with a LIFO stack
(push/peek/pop/clear). Multiple deferrable tools can stage independent
preview actions; resolve always consumes the topmost one first.
- Wire pendingActionStore through discoverAndLoadCustomTools / loadCustomTools /
CustomToolLoader so custom tools can call pushPendingAction(action) to
register a resolve-compatible pending action with label, apply callback,
optional details, and optional sourceToolName.
- Export HIDDEN_TOOLS and ResolveTool from the SDK for manual tool composition.
- Add CustomToolPendingAction type and pushPendingAction to CustomToolAPI.
- Update createAgentSession to re-inject or remove resolve after the deferrable
audit, consistent with createTools behavior.
- Add LIFO resolve test, update existing tests (set -> push, get -> peek).
- Add docs/resolve-tool-runtime.md covering PendingActionStore internals,
built-in producer example, and custom tool usage guide.
- Extracted credential storage to shared @oh-my-pi/pi-ai package with AuthCredentialStore and AuthStorage classes.
- Consolidated UI formatting logic from ToolUIKit class into standalone utility functions across render-utils and output-meta modules.
- Moved utility functions (parseCommandArgs, substituteArgs, expandPath, normalizeUnicode) to dedicated modules for improved code reuse.
- Extracted JTD type definitions and type guards to jtd-utils module for shared use across schema conversion tools.
- Updated Claude model pricing and added cache read costs in models.json for accurate billing calculations.
- Refactored agent-storage to delegate credential management to AuthCredentialStore instead of direct SQLite operations.
- Added streamed tool intent display in working message to show real-time intent tracking during agent execution.
- Changed intent tracing field name from `$intent` to `_intent` across tool schemas and agent core for consistency.
- Added support for file deletion and renaming operations in hashline edit mode.
- Renamed hashline edit operation fields: `set` to `target`/`new_content`, `set_range` to `first`/`last`/`new_content`, `insert` to `inserted_lines`.
