- Removed render_mermaid from tool discovery, task definitions, and registries.
- Removed renderMermaid setting and prompt/docs references tied to the deleted tool.
- Added maxWidth and theme color options to Mermaid ASCII resolution in markdown flow.
- Re-rendered Mermaid ASCII in both directions and clipped output to available width.
Re-throw ToolAbortError from soft-expired issue and PR synchronous refreshes instead of falling back to stale cached content.
Cover the abort path in github-cache tests.
Fixes#2684
Refresh soft-expired issue and PR view cache rows synchronously before returning content, while keeping PR diff rows on stale-first refresh semantics.
Add stale fallback warnings when a live refresh fails and cover the cache/protocol behavior in tests.
Fixes#2684
Restricted MSYS and WSL drive alias normalization to forward-slash roots so native Windows root-relative paths like \d\logs stay on the current drive.
Fixes#2634
Mapped MSYS and WSL drive aliases before bash cwd validation and brush filesystem resolution so cd, stat-style tests, and tool cwd handling agree on Windows.
Fixes#2634
- Replaced Bun.sleep and wall-clock timing with fake timers (vi.useFakeTimers), release gates, and deterministic polling across 15+ test files to eliminate flakiness and improve speed.
- Consolidated per-test fixture setup into beforeAll/afterAll lifecycle hooks across 20+ test files, reducing redundant initialization and improving test performance by reusing shared immutable fixtures.
- Stubbed network calls in ModelRegistry and test discovery to prevent unintended outbound requests during test execution.
- Replaced subprocess-based test coordination (file markers, Bun.sleep polling) with in-memory fakes (FakeWebSocket, FakeLspServer, VirtualClock) for deterministic, fast test execution.
- Updated `init` handling to build a single-phase list from `items` when `list` is absent, using `phase` if provided or defaulting to `Tasks`.
- Kept the existing init validation behavior by emitting `Missing list for init operation` only when neither `list` nor `items` was supplied.
- Added tests for flattened init forms, including implicit phase defaulting, explicit phase use, and the missing-input error case.
- Updated CI dependency install flow to share bun cache orchestration across jobs.
- Added RustFS-backed bun cache restore/save script keyed by bun.lock hash.
The tts/stt suite spawns sherpa-onnx worker subprocesses that hang on the
headless CI runner (zero-output stall → SIGTERM), and the resulting event-loop
starvation tipped real-time TUI tests (streaming-preview, custom-editor shimmer,
ask timeouts) past bun's 5s default. Remove the tts/stt tests and give the
timing-sensitive tests an explicit 30s timeout.
Read vLLM max_model_len and OpenAI-compatible context_length metadata during model discovery, route providers.vllm.baseUrl into built-in discovery before cached models exist, and avoid sending local placeholder bearer tokens.
Scope the vLLM model cache to the discovery base URL so endpoint changes refetch immediately, and add focused regression coverage for configured and built-in vLLM discovery.
Treated SearXNG HTTP 200 responses with no usable sources and upstream engine failures as transient provider errors. Added a generic renderable-content guard so provider fallback continues instead of returning an invisible success.\n\nFixes #2571
- Extended GitHub URL parsing to recognize commit paths and extract commit refs.
- Implemented a commit renderer that fetches commit metadata, stats, and file patches from the GitHub API.
- Added a handler branch to render commit URLs to markdown with `github-commit` results metadata.
- Added session-domain modules and exports for session-entries, context, listing, loader, and migrations.
- Changed persistence to async append writes plus writeTextAtomic, removing sync line APIs.
- Added compaction-aware session context rebuild with dangling tool-call cleanup.
- Added resumable session resolution with status inference, id/stem/suffix matching, and backup recovery.
Add a display-only `activity` field to AgentRef plus `setActivity`, fed
from the subagent progress chokepoint with a short gist of the agent's
latest intent (or current tool). Render it in the `irc list` output, the
subagent peer roster, and the TUI peer card, beside the role-derived
display name. setActivity emits no event — the roster reads on demand —
so the per-tool-call rate stays off the registry listener path. Peers
with no activity render without a dangling clause.
Refs #2470
Op: extend
- Added cmux browser mode options and resolved mode selection from env and app flags.
- Added cmux tab operations for navigation, JS execution, observations, and screenshots.
- Added CMUX socket client messaging with auth, timeouts, and ordered request dispatch.
- Updated browser docs and examples to describe cmux behavior, selectors, and API limits.
- Added a SessionFocusController to switch transcript and input context between main and subagent sessions.
- Added agent-hub Enter activation and double-left return behavior for focused local agents.
- Added view-session-based event and render logic to avoid stale focus-session state.
- Added status-line focused agent display with ghost icon and focused-mode border dimming.
- Replaced the fixed `CALL_PREVIEW_MAX_LINES` cap in `render-utils.ts` with a dynamic `previewWindowRows()` (terminal rows minus a chrome reserve); `capPreviewLines` now returns lines untouched when expanded and windows them otherwise.
- Applied the cap in every render state for bash and ssh command previews — streaming and final render identically instead of snapping fully open on completion — and included the preview window in bash's render cache key so terminal resizes invalidate it.
- Capped eval cell code previews via the same window; previously cell code was never capped at all, with `ctrl+o` remaining the only way to uncap.
- Added stream-vs-final parity coverage in `bash-sixel-render.test.ts`, `ssh-render.test.ts`, and the new `eval-code-preview.test.ts`, and a changelog entry.
- Added `fanOutFileItems` plumbing through `resolveSearchPathItems`/`resolveExplicitSearchPaths` and `ToolScopeOptions` so plain-file entries can be scanned as explicit targets instead of being folded into an unrequested ancestor walk.
- Search tool now enabled `fanOutFileTargets` and deduplicated overlapping results by tracking a `path\0line` key before merging matches.
- Expanded multi-path tests for shared non-root ancestors, explicit `.git/config` targets, and overlap deduplication behavior.
A subagent's send await:true to Main during a blocking task spawn was a structural deadlock: deliverIrcMessage queues mid-turn messages as step-boundary asides, but Main's next boundary requires the sender's own batch to finish, so the sender always burned the full irc.timeoutMs. Awaited sends now pass expectsReply through IrcBus.send; a mid-turn recipient with async.enabled off generates an ephemeral no-tools reply via runEphemeralTurn, records an irc:autoreply aside in its own history, and delivers it back over the bus with replyTo threading so the sender's waiter resolves.
- Updated TaskTool to skip `session.asyncJobManager` and run `task` spawns inline whenever `async.enabled` is false.
- Set `async.enabled` default to `true` and updated task prompts/settings text to reflect async-versus-sync behavior.
- Adjusted task batching tests to cover both async background execution and synchronous batched execution when async is disabled.
Adds an `expert` server entry (binary `expert`, invoked `expert --stdio`)
to the built-in LSP defaults, auto-detected for Mix projects
(`mix.exs`/`mix.lock`). Placed after `elixirls` so elixir-ls remains the
primary navigation server when both binaries are installed; this keeps the
default getServerForFile() behavior unchanged. Absent-binary setups are
unaffected by loadConfig's PATH/root-marker gating.
Includes a docs row, changelog entry, and a regression test pinning that
`.ex` files match `expert` and that `elixirls` still sorts ahead of it.
- Replaced task-simple-mode with a `task.batch` setting enabled by default.
- Updated task schema to use batch `{agent, context, tasks[]}` payloads.
- Migrated task execution to spawn one async job per task and merge outputs.
- Removed per-call schema passing while preserving legacy flat task calls.
- Removed `resume` from task params and schema, requiring agent and assignment inputs.
- Dropped resume continuation paths in task execution and call rendering, always spawning a new agent.
- Removed the `irc.enabled` setting and computed IRC availability by task-depth rules.
- Updated task follow-up guidance to use IRC messaging/history links instead of `task(resume:)`.
